#100 Days of Notebooking
|
Today is a snow day. I was just deciding whether or not I had time to write a blog post and magically an entire day was gifted to me. I want to welcome new notebookers to our journey! We are SO glad you're here! Follow #100daysofnotebooking on twitter and you are invited to join our Facebook Group too.
Messy pages. A lot has been said in our group on Facebook and on twitter about being intimidated about the beauty of many of these pages. I agree! Some of them are breathtaking and sometimes I think, "I'm not an artist. I can't make that." The thing is that I don't have to make that. You are here to record YOUR story in your own way! No one can tell your story, so you must. I have pages that I've created that are pleasing to the eye. I like using colorful pens and doodling on the page. It's not about any of that though...it's about showing up to the page. It's about leaving a piece of yourself on the page. I've learned that there have been too many times when I've valued the "look" of a page over the content. I'm continue to learn and grow. In my experience, messy pages are when I just don't care and something surprising always comes out. Messy pages hold so much of my untangling of life. Messy pages represent learning and growing. In my classroom, we celebrate the messy pages! For those of you notebooking with students, please remember how hard this is and value the process over the product. Don't require colorful pens, instead invite them to use what's most comfortable for them. Doodling and drawing is exciting for some of your students and it's not for others. Honor the notebooker...and do that for yourself. Messy pages, colorful pages, neat pages, crazy pages...ALL are welcome here! Happy Notebooking! #100daysofnotebooking
