How are things going? Are you still writing? Have you experienced the "I don't want to write today" feeling yet? If not, you will. Remember to celebrate the small successes. Remember to show yourself grace. If you've missed a day or two or more, come back.
I'm going to quote my good friend, Teach Write owner, Jennifer Laffin who always says, "Progress, not perfection." It's true. I like the messy progress of it all. The challenges when I've missed days and come back are the most successful to me because I know I've found a way to fix my mistakes. I've missed something and yet still returned...that's not a small thing. You continue to inspire me. Thank you for taking this journey with me. Happy Notebooking! My pages today include the origin story of #100daysofnotebooking. Enjoy!

Today is a snow day. I was just deciding whether or not I had time to write a blog post and magically an entire day was gifted to me. I want to welcome new notebookers to our journey! We are SO glad you're here! Follow #100daysofnotebooking on twitter and you are invited to join our Facebook Group too.
Messy pages. A lot has been said in our group on Facebook and on twitter about being intimidated about the beauty of many of these pages. I agree! Some of them are breathtaking and sometimes I think, "I'm not an artist. I can't make that." The thing is that I don't have to make that. You are here to record YOUR story in your own way! No one can tell your story, so you must. I have pages that I've created that are pleasing to the eye. I like using colorful pens and doodling on the page. It's not about any of that though...it's about showing up to the page. It's about leaving a piece of yourself on the page. I've learned that there have been too many times when I've valued the "look" of a page over the content. I'm continue to learn and grow. In my experience, messy pages are when I just don't care and something surprising always comes out. Messy pages hold so much of my untangling of life. Messy pages represent learning and growing. In my classroom, we celebrate the messy pages! For those of you notebooking with students, please remember how hard this is and value the process over the product. Don't require colorful pens, instead invite them to use what's most comfortable for them. Doodling and drawing is exciting for some of your students and it's not for others. Honor the notebooker...and do that for yourself. Messy pages, colorful pages, neat pages, crazy pages...ALL are welcome here! Happy Notebooking! #100daysofnotebooking It's Monday morning and I have a few things I'd like to share with our community...
Welcome to Day Two! The first day was filled with inspiration and excitement. I am overwhelmed and excited. As I write this post, I am still accepting members to the group on Facebook and we are at 178. There are many people notebooking and sharing on Twitter too.
The best part of this experience is the supportive community. I love reading encouraging comments that people are leaving for each other. It warms my heart. The notebook pages are amazing too. I've heard a few people struggle with feeling like their pages aren't good enough to share. A few others have asked for the rules. Here's my answers... YOU have a story that only you can tell. Tell that story in the pages of your notebook. Share what you're comfortable with sharing. Use a pencil and scribble all over the page or use watercolor markers and create an artistic masterpiece. They are both beautiful expressions of the notebooker and one isn't any better than the other. My only rule is this: SHOW UP to the page without apology. We are here to support and encourage you on your journey. Happy Notebooking! Day 2/100 I still haven't decided if I'm going to post here every single day for all one hundred days. Today is the first day. We are off to a great start! People are sharing pages in our Facebook group and on Twitter. There are already so many encouraging and supportive comments. I'm incredibly inspired.
Our group is bigger than I anticipated. I estimate there are at least one hundred and fifty writers participating in this challenge. We have writers from all over the United States and Canada, the UK, Australia, Cambodia, and Nigeria. Have you written your page for day one? We are here. You can do it! #100daysofnotebooking Don't forget to share your page or your progress. Remember to share encouraging comments to other notebookers. |
